We designed and built the full hotel website for First HR Hotel in Ghana — complete with an online room booking system, gallery, and facility showcase to drive direct reservations and reduce reliance on OTA platforms.
First HR Hotel in Ghana had strong facilities — comfortable rooms, a swimming pool, restaurant, and conference centre — but was almost entirely dependent on third-party booking platforms (OTAs) that charged high commissions on every reservation. Their existing web presence was minimal, with no proper booking engine or facility showcase.
We designed and built a professional hotel website that gives First HR Hotel full ownership of its digital guest journey. A clean, welcoming design puts the property's best features front and centre, backed by a real-time room availability and booking engine that drives direct reservations.
How we built it
Hospitality UX Audit
Reviewed the guest booking journey and benchmarked against comparable Ghanaian boutique hotels. Identified the key trust signals that drive direct bookings: professional photography, clear pricing, and visible amenities.
Design
Developed a warm, professional visual design with a rich hero image, clean navigation, and a booking widget above the fold. Designed to feel welcoming and trustworthy — not just functional.
Booking Engine Integration
Integrated a WooCommerce Bookings-based reservation system with real-time availability, room type selection, date-picker, and guest count. Guests can complete the full booking without leaving the site.
Rooms & Facilities Showcase
Built detailed room pages with photography, amenity lists, and pricing. Added facility pages for the pool, restaurant, and conference room to support both leisure and business enquiries.
SEO & Local Discovery
Optimised all pages for local search — targeting terms for hotel accommodation and conference venues in Ghana to drive organic direct traffic and reduce OTA dependency.
First HR Hotel launched with a professional digital presence that finally reflects the quality of the property. The direct booking system gives the hotel a commission-free reservation channel, and the comprehensive facility showcase has driven stronger enquiries for conference and event bookings.
