We built the full property listing platform for Dwell Chronicles — making renting across Ghana simple and transparent, with searchable listings across apartments, houses, offices, and shortlets all in one place.
Finding rental property across Ghana — whether in Accra, Ho, Kumasi, or other cities — was a chaotic, word-of-mouth-driven process. There was no single trusted platform aggregating listings across apartments, houses, offices, and shortlets in one place. Prospective renters were spending days making calls and visiting agents across multiple cities, while landlords had no reliable way to reach qualified tenants digitally.
We built Dwell Chronicles as the go-to property listing platform for Ghana — a clean, fast web app where renters can search, filter, and enquire on verified listings across all property types and locations nationwide. Landlords get a self-service listing tool, and the platform generates qualified leads through a structured enquiry flow rather than unmanaged social media posts and WhatsApp chains.
How we built it
Market Research
Interviewed renters and landlords across multiple Ghanaian cities to map pain points in the current search process. The biggest frustrations: incomplete listing info, no photos, unreliable contacts, and no way to compare options across cities from a single platform.
Platform Architecture
Low maintenance overhead and ease of use for non-technical landlords adding their own listings. Built custom post types for each property category with location-aware filtering.
Search & Filter UX
Designed a location-first search experience with filters for city, property type, bedroom count, price range, and amenities. Mobile-first — the majority of the target audience browses on smartphones.
Listing Management
Built a landlord-facing listing submission flow with photo uploads, amenity checkboxes, location tagging, and pricing fields. Listings go through an admin review stage before going live to maintain quality.
Enquiry Flow
Integrated a structured enquiry form on each listing that routes directly to the landlord or agent, replacing the informal WhatsApp chains and Facebook group posts that were the previous default.
Dwell Chronicles launched as a dedicated rental property platform serving cities across Ghana. The platform filled a clear gap in the local market, attracting landlords seeking digital visibility and renters looking for a reliable, organised way to find property — whether searching in Accra, Ho, Kumasi, or anywhere else in the country.
We finally have a professional place to list our properties. The enquiries are better quality and the tenants are more serious.
